Biography
Jerks (not to be confused with a band from Manchester called The Jerks, from roughly the same era) were a short-lived punk band from Yorkshire, the area of Leeds, United Kingdom, established in 1976.
Their début single, November 1977's 'Get Your Woofing Dog Me' b/w 'Hold My Hand', is now regarded as a bit of a punk classic. Band members on these recordings were Simon Snakke (vocals), Paul Gilbert (guitar), Mark Jackson (guitar), Charles Chaos (bass) and Andy Caves (drums).
The band toured with Generation X, Sham 69 and The Adverts, then band members started to jump ship. A revised Jerks line-up issued two further singles (in 1978 and 1980) before the band finally imploded in the very early eighties.
