On March 4h, 2009 Campbell’s fans can expect her most exhilarating, inspiring, and compelling release yet. The EP “Put the Stars Back” exemplifies Campbell’s growth as a songwriter and an artist. This quickly emerging folk rock artist is quickly making a name for herself on the Nashville music scene with her meaningful lyrics, energizing vocals, and the ability to present her music with graceful intensity.

Campbell partnered with Nashville-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Cason Cooley (Katie Herzig, Derek Webb) on the five tracks, recording the tracks at Wide Studio in East Nashville with engineer Andy Hunt.

“This was the first tracking session after Hunt renovated his home studio, so there was an air of excitement and anticipation in all of us,” says Campbell. “The recordings convey the energy that I had envisioned while writing these songs. I’ve been so honored to work with a producer like Cason Cooley, who takes pride in matching the songs with the right players, instrumentation, and arrangements.”

“Put the Stars Back” features some of Nashville’s brightest musicians including drummer Will Sayles (Matt Kearney, Sixpence None the Richer), electric guitarist Paul Moak (Matt Kearney, Hillary Duff), guitarist Steve Mason (Jars of Clay), and producer/keyboardist Cason Cooley (Matthew Perryman Jones, Matt Kearney).

This North Carolina native had a hand in writing on all five tracks, four of which were written with fellow songwriting friends, including award-winning songwriter Christa Wells, up and coming Nashville writer Eric Paslay, Jarrett Carter, and Campbell’s drummer, Evan Hutchings.

The title of the EP comes from the lyrics of the song “Like Fire,” which Campbell says is about a friend that was delivered from the depths of her past, by a hope and love that renewed her spirit so much that she became an inspiration to everyone around her.

“I’ve found that when one finds their true self, when a new passion is awakened, or when a new reason to live is discovered, the optimism can spread quickly,” says the singer/songwriter. “This EP communicates a thread of hope, perseverance and the promise that good things will happen in this world, no matter how bad things seem to get.”

In addition to music, Campbell also has a passion for helping those struggling with poverty in Latin America. With several trips under her belt to the country of Honduras, Campbell contributes proceeds of her merchandise to aid projects sponsored by the non-profit organization, Food for the Hungry.

"Once I met the people in Honduras and saw their needs firsthand, I wanted to find a way to support the humanitarian efforts with my music.”
