Such a timeless record. Only stumbled upon this greatness recently thanks to the Original Album Collection.

One of my favorite Tull albums along with "Stand Up" and "Heavy Horses." Though they use contemporary (at least for the time) instruments, these songs sound very much aligned with olden times and ancient English folk tales, and Ian is in top form as a songwriter (both lyrically and musically) on this album. Overall, an extraordinary musical experience. Tull were certainly one of the most consistently great bands ever back in the 70s.

I always keep smiling throughout the whole record, I just can't help myself, it's absolutely marvellous... one of the best three Tull albums without doubt (along with Minstrel and Broadsword of course)...

I bought this CD about 4 months ago. My last Jethro Tull was Aqualung and I bought that in 1990. I really didn't expect much, but this album has really grabbed me and surprised me. It is amazing that such a complex and interesting album has stood the test of time, even though it was released in the midst of the punk explosion.
