Its strange to me that this isn't seen as one of the first hard rock records, at least it doesn't seem to have that reputation to me. Is it because it is too varied? This is one year before those Blue Cheer record that have a similar heavyness to them and to me noticeably heavier than the Cream record before it.

Jimi Hendrix took the electric guitar as far as it can go, creatively and techniquely. After him, there is no other true guitar innovator, just refried riffs weve heard before. He transcended the blues and psycho-delica to manifest another world where music is more than melody, bass and beat, it's human acheivement beyond the angelic, way past the divine. <he nailed it forever.

This album isn't one of Jimi's solo albums. It should be scrobbled under the name The Jimi Hendrix Experience. (02)

double fail on the tagging first it's are you experienced without the ? you can clearly see this on the album cover, second off, it's by the jimi hendrix experience, not jimi hendrix on his own.

I saw Hendrix twice in 79 & 71 I believe in Houston's Sam Houston Coliseum. I was just left of center which is where he played from. My guess, 100%, is that I was on PCP and maryjane. Need I saw I was tripping?

To those 2 below that cite '93 & '05 as this albums release year--sorry, but this album was originally released in 1967. I know because I bought it then. Purple Haze was a #1...also Hey Joe & Foxy Lady were right up there.
