Biography

Joe and the Jungle embodies a unique blend of rock music, taking a driving hard rock style when they rock hard and intertwining it with beautiful melodies and a songwriting prowess of the 1960's and 70's while crooning soft. The songs vary in mood, yet share a common bond of unique song structure and catchy hooks, pushing the boundaries of the modern rock genre. The band consists of the songwriting talents of Joe Reilly and Brian Edwards, two friends who met at their University and formed the band in New York City in 2008. Joe Reilly, born and raised to a lower middle class working family in Buffalo, NY, focuses primarily on the themes of love, war and total independence of the soul, while Brian Edwards of New Hyde Park (Long island), NY, brings out the angst of youth, and beautiful analytic dream state contemplations. Both musicians form a common songwriting bond on the theme of rebellion and never accepting anything less than absolute freedom in every aspect of life.

After much success in the NYC market, Joe and Brian moved the band to Los Angeles where they currently reside and perform with a eclectic variety of band members performing in the Jungle. Like a nuclear bomb hitting downtown LA, so too will Joe and the Jungle rock your foundations to the core.

Notable venues, festivals, and artists the Jungle has opened for include The California Music Fest, The Roxy, The Troubadour, The Key Club, The Rainbow Room, The Cat Club, legendary Guns N' Roses member Dizzy Reed at The Viper Room, and popular Northern Ireland rock band "The Answer." Joe and the Jungle was also recently nominated for a 2009 Independent Music Award.

The main influences are the Beatles, ACDC, Pink Floyd, Foo Fighters, Guns N' Roses, Queen, Nirvana, T-Rex, The White Stripes, Queens of the Stone Age, Muse, The Rolling Stones, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, The Who, Love, David Bowie.
