“Something Like Olivia” is the 5th track and 3rd single from Mayer’s Born and Raised album.
Mayer admitted this song was written in reference to his celebrity crush, actress Olivia Wilde. Presumably the singer penned this track before February 8, 2011, when the actress announced that she and her husband, filmmaker Tao Ruspoli, were separating. The theme of the song plays along the lines of a woman you want but can’t have.
"Now I’m not trying to steal
No love away from no one man
But if Olivia herself were at my door
I’d have to say, I’d let her in".
