"The Hissing of Summer Lawns" has one of the most beautiful bridges ever conceived.

It’s so easy! How can anyone not fall in love with Edith and the Kingpin & The Boho Dance.

Honestly the more I listen to this album, the more I find something new with it and I fall in love with it even more than I did before. This is an incredibly stellar album and one of my favorites by her's! I love the aesthetics for the album, the sounds, nuances, soundscapes, everything. I guess you could say this album gave me an greater eye for detail... if you know what I mean!

"Hissing catapults us into the aftermath of these destabilized relationships—scenes of shared domestic psychosis that read like Clarice Lispector set in the Hollywood Hills. Every song illustrates the feeling of being trapped, unworthy, and marching to the obscure beat of someone else's drum." - https://pitchfork.com/thepitch/965-on-joni-mitchells-enduring-hissing-of-summer-lawns-40-years-later/

One of her best. She'd expand on this sound with Don Juan's Reckless Daughter, and eschew folk altogether with Mingus.

It's so weird, I've read so many comments about people not being able to get into this album, whereas i gravitated towards this album from the get-go. I've had a harder time getting into For The Roses, there's not enough charge.
