    Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom

Jonnie Common is name of an eponymous 80s-inspired Scottish Indie-Electro/Electro-folk artist and composer from Glasgow, Scotland, started as a solo effort after end of the group Down The Tiny Steps in 2009. Although primarily described as electronic music, Common frequently uses not only samples but instrumentals, such as guitar, banjo, harp and others.

A second album, Trapped In Amber was released by Song, By Toad, and was met with mixed, though generally-positive reviews, with The Skinny describing it as "patchy though with consistent warmth". The single "Shark" was received positively, with NPR's Otis Hart placing it in his "Songs We Love" column, along with positive reviews for the song "So And So" and its depictions of a cancer sufferer, which Skinny Reviewer Simon Catling described as "poignant."

He has released several CD-R albums, EPs and downloads alongside more notable releases such as DESK JOB and his most recent albums, Master of None and the remix of that album, Hair of The Dog. "Master of None", despite its limited release received generally positive reviews from various reviewers, including one from BBC's Lauren Laverne, and includes several songs previously released on various CDRs, EPs; many of which previously appeared as collaborative efforts from Down The Tiny Steps.

Common has created several remixes of other artists from Scotland, such as Miaoux Miaoux, FOUND and Conquering Animal Sound, and founded a collaborative effort called CARBS with Conquering Animal Sound lead, creating a debut album Joyous Material Failure.
