Dr. Joseph Akins (pronounced "Ache-ins") is a recording artist (pianist/composer) and professor in the greater Nashville, TN area. After years of playing with notable pop-rock, country and jazz bands, he has released three solo albums of original instrumental music titled Keys to the Heart, Masterpeace and Spirit Touch. He continually travels the United States often performing with popular contemporary solo pianists such as David Lanz, Liz Story and David Nevue. He teaches music and music production as an award-winning associate professor at the prestigious Department of Recording Industry at Middle Tennessee State University.
