I hate how overlooked this album is. Some of my most favorite metal tracks are songs from this album. I religiously listened to Disc 1 when I was a teenager. Of course the whole "concept album with interludes" is unnecessary and dated but the core material is exceptional. Maybe it's nostalgic but I don't really care.

I wonder how that guy who listened to this album everyday for like 4 years is doing.

Prophecy is such a great track. It's sad it gets lost in the vortex from the greater fanbase because it is on this album.

I absolutely hated this at first but for some reason kept going back to it. It felt like I would add a song at a time to my loved tracks and over the course of 13 years I now absolutely adore 16 out of 23! Could have been edited down, I have made an 80 minute album of my favorite tracks. Something very special is here it just takes a while to find.

Out of curiosity, as a big fan of this album, what did you trim off? Although I don't feel the need to do that myself, if I had to do it, I'd rid it off "War", "New Beginnings", "Lost Love" and shorten a bunch of the instrumentals.

I gutted "Awakening" , "War", "Lost Love", "Solitude", "Exiled", "Hope", "New Beginnings". Think that's right!

A masterpiece, dare I say it? It might just be this legendary band's best album. Coming so late into their massively groundbreaking career, that is quite astonishing.

I would say symphonic more than prog. Anyway, an album that I have begun to appreciate along these years.

De las cosas que critico del Firepower, es la ausencia de los solos con la etiqueta de KK Downing y Glenn Tipton. Este es el último disco en el cual se puede apreciar esto.

Bought the CD back when it was first released. I loved it then, I still love it now. Just an excellent record and a nice experimental venture for the Priest. Would love to own a copy of the old box set these days, but I hear the vinyl are like 99 % guaranteed to be damaged from PVC sleeves. I hope to see a vinyl reissue of this masterpiece, 'cause all the artwork deserves it.

Awesome! JP waited a long time, but their entry into the world of progressive metal was a total success! Very Dream Theater and Iron Maiden-y. Actually, I think this is better than any of the Maiden prog metal releases over the last 20 years. The keyboards and piano from Don Airey is excellent, and the strings are put in the perfect places. Plus, Halford's vocals are great.

8,5 years after its release, it's still my favorite JP record. Great and heavy guitars with huge, pounding drums and lots of Don Airey's (Ozzy, Rainbow, Deep Purple, etc.) amazing keyboards. It's a musical journey and I love every single minute of it. "Exiled" is particularly amazing.

I always loved this album, it is one of my favorites from JP without a doubt, maybe because the atmosphere here is something completely different, definitely a more melancholic/enigmatic and less trivial album.

This album is NOT a disaster. It was an experiment which is a grower. I respect this album a lot more now.

With all respect that I have for Halford and Judas Priest one of my favorite bands but this album it's a disaster. I hope never more in my life hear this record. To listen something similar and "Beauty Heavy Metal" I prefer listen Rhapsody Of Fire, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Helloween, Edguy, Avantasia, Symphony X, Angra... I want of Judas Priest ever "TRUE Heavy Metal" xD

My only gripe with these CDs is the underwhelming production. As much as I respect their choice for total creative control, Tom Allom or Chris Tsangarides really would've brought the full potential out of these songs with a sense of what Priest wanted. The nearest equivalent would be the piss-poor job Steve Harris did on the desk for The X Factor, which contained some of his best compositions to-date. A full remix and remaster of this album in the future will accentuate its greatness, SO LET IT BE WRITTEN, SO SHALL IT BE DONE PROPHECY ONE HUNNED
