hands down , this is one where they peaked musically, none of their other albums matches this one, it is masterfully crafted , it has more of a classic rock sound to it than their usually known eighties vibe but it is their magnum opus in my opinion

Это было бы лучшим метал релизом, если бы половина альбома не состояла из прогрока и завываний под гитарку

same thoughts, this is the apex of their works imo, best riffs and melodic lines and solos and harmonies , truly a masterpiece , enjoyable from front to cover.

as much as i love the 80 and 90s Hell Bent For Leather Judas, it's just incredible how different they sound here. The bluesy riffs and the huge 70s prog bandas influence on songs, combined with their the early development of their style is a wonderful match, and the cover is one of the most beautiful ones in the whole metal genre

I like a lot of Priest's albums, but this is the only one that does it for me front-to-back.

The true beginning of Priest. The guitars are distorted and tuned to "ass-kicking," the riffs are crunchy and catchy, Rob's vocals have tons more range and a thousand times more unique character and appeal, the production is better... this one is the one that started making Priest such an influential Heavy Metal group (the twin guitar attack, Halford's awesome operatic vocals), and even all these years later it holds up favorably among their best work. Classic and essential.

Great album. One of Priest's all-time best. Really, they had no bad albums between this one and Defenders of the Faith.

This is one of the most influential metal albums ever made. No rock collection is complete without this. "Sad Wings" was the next step in metal after the initial wave of Sabbath, Purple, and Uriah Heep.Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Metallica, Fates Warning and virtually all of later progressive metal would be inconceivable had this record never been made. Great writing, playing, changes in tempo, texture, and mood throughout all the brilliant compositions.
