Dokte & Boere got together in 1998 to form what would be one of South Africa’s leading Afrikaans hip hop & rap groups – Kallitz. While writing and producing their own music, Skelm joined them to form a trio a few years later. After gigging extensively in and around the Cape Flats, they were eventually signed to Mothermix Records in 2004. Kallitz released their debut album ‘Die Ding Ruk Mal’ in 2004 and was voted ‘Album of the Month’ by FHM, reached No 1 on the SA Rock Digest Album Charts and won ‘Best Hip Hop Album’ at the 2005 SABC 2 GMT Music Awards.
