Written as an ode to Chicago, where Chicago is a childhood sweetheart and long lost love, inspired by Common's "I Used to Love H.E.R." & its association to hip hop as a lover. Lyrics written by Kanye West, Chris Martin, and Warryn Campbell. The demo's chorus was initially sung by John Legend on Kanye's "Adjustment Volume 1" mix tape.
