"Underdog" is the fourth single released from the Kasabian album West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum. Via download sales alone, it peaked at #32 in the UK Singles Chart on the week after the album's release and became a widely popular song; however, it only just managed to reach the Top 75 of the chart during its physical release on October 26, 2009, only reaching #45 that time around and despite its popularity, remains as the band's lowest charting single in the UK to date.
Tom Meighan told Q magazine that this album opener, "is a great way to start. There's a brilliant fuzzy guitar. By the time you've finished listening to it, you're crushed." (Source Underdog Songfacts).
