I agree. I am doing exactly this right now. It’s 6:19 am here, watching a large show storm from my window. Perfect atmosphere for this album.

A album that has a extreme amount of depth behind it that if! if you do not relate too or understand it you simply will not like it and will think it's depressive not to mention you won't feel the music. Katatonia are one of the only bands that can speak through musical instruments without using words. "don't question my statement." progression at it's finest, meaning at it's peak. performance at it's utmost maximum. you can not simply ask for better music. if you do not enjoy Katatonia. well then you simply do not understand life. They will also remain my favorite band and I will always love and purchase their music to support them.

My opinion might change in the future but imo this is the best Katatonia album. It's just heavy enough and soft in the right spots, the instrumentation is incredibly lush with deep sound colors but veiled in dimness.

I hope the same happens to me. This is the second time I'm listening to it and, I don't know, it just doesn't click. But the same happened to me with TFOH and now I love it. I guess I'll give this one another chance.

As for me this album was the beginning of the end for good old Katatonia. I really enjoyed just one song - "Forsaker", which conjured up some emotions linked with the atmosphere of their previous releases. Unfortunately, the rest of this album literally fails to deliver - depressive but rather simplistic tunes devoid of any harshness and tensity. This is not the way I wanted them to develop. And the "Dead End Kings" was even more horrible for me. Sorry and alas.

This album feels like walking in a nightly park in a post-apocalyptic world, with ashen leaves falling from beautiful blacken ash grey trees and the horizon is glowing in red. So evocative and beautiful :)
