"Smile" is the title track of Katy Perry's sixth studio album. It was released as a single on July 10, 2020. It was written by Katy Perry, Vin Rock, Kay Gee, Ferras, Benny Golson, Anthony Criss, Josh Abraham, Starrah and Oligee. It was produced by Josh Abraham and Oligee. On April 12, 2020, a snippet of the track was leaked, and, on May 5, 2020, a version of the track, featuring rapper Diddy, was leaked. On July 8, 2020, Perry started an online challenge so the fans could see the KP5 cover and finally discover its title. On July 9, she announced the album and "Smile" as the second single off the record, saying: "I wrote the title track from the album when I was coming through one of the darkest periods of my life and had lost my smile. This whole album is my journey towards the light – with stories of resilience, hope, and love".
