Kaveh Yaghmaei (Persian: کاوه یغمایی , born 1968 ) is an Iranian rock musician. He is the eldest son on Iranian legendary singer and musician Kourosh Yaghmaei .
He started learning music at age 8 when he attended Tehran Advanced School of Music and also started learning Piano with Iranian teacher Ms Novin Afrooz. At that time, he also started playing the guitar in his favorite style Rock and learned to compose music from his father and two uncles (Kamran and Kambiz Yaghmaei).
In 1981, Tehran's Music School was closed following the Islamic Revolution in Iran. It was re-opened after few years and Kaveh graduated, while forcefully playing the flute. He then began his professional career of composing and recording music in 1984 and in 1993, Kaveh played his first concert which also was the first Rock concert in Iran after the revolution collaborating with Babak Amini at Bahman Hall. In 1996, Kaveh entered the Islamic Azad University, during which he started playing classical guitar.
In 2005 after the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance of Iran refused to release his first album, he immigrated to Vancouver, Canada with his wife and their twins.
كاوه يغمايي در سال 1347 در تهران متولد شد.در سن 8 سالگي وارد هنرستان عالي موسيقي شد و پيانوي كلاسيك را نزد خانم نوين افروز به صورت تخصصي فرا گرفت.در همان زمان شروع به نواختن گيتار در سبك مورد علاقه اش يعني راك و سبكهاي مختلف ديگر نمود. آهنگ سازي را نيز نزد پدر خود كوروش يغمايي و عموهاي خود كامران و كامبيز فرا گرفت.
بعد از انقلاب اسلامي ايران هنرستان موسيقي تعطيل شد و با بازگشايي مجدد آن كاوه يغمايي با ساز تخصصي فلوت از آن هنرستان فارغ التحصيل شد.در سال 1373 وارد دانشگاه آزاد شد و شروع به نواختن گيتار كلاسيك نمود.
كاوه يغمايي از سال 1363 به صورت حرفه اي در زمينه هاي مختلف از قبيل آهنگ سازي , ضبط و تنظيم موسيقي فعاليت داشته و در آلبوم هاي مختلف به عنوان نوازنده , آهنگساز و تنظيم كننده همكاري داشته است كه شما ميتوانيد براي اطلاعات بيشتر به قسمت آلبوم ها در سايت مراجعه فرماييد .
وي به همراه بابك اميني در سال 1372 اولين كنسرت رسمي راك را بعد از انقلاب اسلامي برگزار كردند.
