Biography

The Keith! Party story begins in a decadent Brunswick sharehouse late one night in Summer 2007. Producer/singer/MC extraordinaire Talkshow Boy, aka Adrian Trajstman, already had four solo albums under his belt when he decided to take a step into a more collaborative and hip-hop-flavoured realm. Enter Cathead LaQuack, aka Spitfire Parade's Casio Keith McDougall. Inspired by his passion for grime, LaQuack stepped up to the bedroom computer and spat his first bars over Talkshow's beats, and a rap group was born. Numbers quickly swelled as whoever happened to be passing through the house was invited to contribute, despite the fact that most had never rapped before. Before long the 'It's a Mega World!' LP was complete, involving roughly twenty people. The group's spectacular live shows blew the roofs off pubs and warehouses all over Melbourne with their colourful and immersive explosions of streamers, balloons, confetti, glitter, pinatas, jumping castles and crazy dance moves. Inpress claimed they "deconstructed the concept of a stage" and the Tote threatened to charge them for their cleaning bill. Some audience members feel threatened, but most can't help but get swept up in the whirlwind.
