I put it on the devil when they fall short, I put it on my ego, lord of our lords

I think that this song doesn't refer to someone specific in Kendrick's life, as the description says, but it's Kendrick reflections on his past mistakes and how they affected the person he is today. If he's talking to somebody I can only see it being his past self, contemplating how many times he failed while trying to change and correct himself until finding out that only through self love and self forgiveness he could learn how to move forward and actually improve, noticing how blessed he is. That's just the way I see it and it's what made me truly love this song and identify with it

The first verse is top 5 Kendrick verses imo, so fucking good, and seeing it lived with the arrows in his back on the cube was fucking crazy

I feel like I see myself in this track. "I care too much, wanna share too much, in my head too much..." This song is like an anthem for my life. If I had to describe myself using a song this would be it
