I don't see the track “I'm an Agent”, (from the /Gary Numan Tribute/ album, “Random”), but digging it now. It's pretty far-out bitchin’! Definitely dig this group.

They were unfortunate in being a smart 3/4 girl band during Britpop which was a very male-centric and often chauvinistic scene. They'd fare a lot better now I think. I Would Fix You was a fitting sign-off for a bunch of Fuckwits, great tune - the last Good Britpop Record IMO.

Lauren always seem vaguely embarrassed by any mention of Kenickie on her radio show. I know it all ended badly but they really were great for what they were.

@thirdprofile - I've seen it go for £60 or so in the last few months, but maybe I shouldn't tell you that. On another note, I was lucky enough to come across mp3s of demos - Uglification, The Janet Ellis Conspiracy and Glamour For The Criminally Insane - anyone know where these originated from? Barely anyone on last.fm seems to have listened to them, and I'd never heard of them until recently.

<clicks on motorfid's profile and is entirely unsurprised to find that it's full of tiresomely blokey rock bands>

I remember seeing them play The Garage and John Peel proudly introduced them. They were so shambolic, fun, talkative and funny, it endeared them to me forever. I'm sad that they spilt, I'm sad Lauren didn't continue her solo career and Rosita never took off. Anyone know what happened to Marie and Emmy-Kate?

'Get In' is a really impressive album, I especially like the run of songs from 'Magnatron' to '411'

Still miss them. 1st album was a great punk debut. 2nd album was a great pop record. Two completely different sounds, and both brilliant...we'll never see their like again.

Lauren used to make me feel peculiar...I saw them at the Electric Ballroom and they were aces. My mates didn't get it at all.

Kenickie are one of the few bands of the 90's who's stuff sounds better and more important with age. I wonder what it'd take for some re-union gigs? x
