One of Kid Cudi’s best songs. XV later rapped over the beat and used the hook in his song "Vizzy Zone". Produced by Emile Haynie.

"This joint is called “Cudi Zone”, it’s produced by Emile. And he made this beat in like five, ten minutes. Yeah, and then, we had this, it’s probably one of the earlier recordings on the album, like one of the first three joints we recorded. And I just had the first verse for a long time. And, I was so intimidated by it, ‘cause you know it’s kinda long. I was like “Man, this verse is so dope. If I write another verse it has to be the same length, and, I don’t know if I can top that verse ‘cause it was so good”, definitely one of the best raps, like, verses I’ve ever written. And, it’s kinda like talking about, that moment where you’re at peace, when you’re stoned and you’re in your place, and everything is just perfect, and it’s beyond words. This just feels like “oooooooh”, you know it’s just like, you can’t explain it. And, it’s that moment of just, happiness. I wrote that first verse, that first verse lived for about six or seven months. I was just gonna have that one verse and have the song, be that. And then, one day I woke up, grab my phone and started writing the second verse. And it just came so smoothly and came so easy to me. And, next thing you know, I laid it down and it was just perfect. And we put the strings on it and, “Cudi Zone” was born."

– in a song by song interview with Generations

Emile said the following about the track:

"He had the first verse forever and me and Pat were like, ‘Cudi Zone,’ what’s up with it?’ And Cudi would just blow it off. So me and Pat were just like, ‘Fuck man, this record is so dope.’ But it went on so long that I started to wonder if this monster of a record was going to be on the shelf, just like if it was ever going to get finished.

A long time went by and he just wasn’t going to force it. Cudi doesn’t force his stuff when he works. It’s either going to happen or it’s not going to happen. Eventually one day, it was real nonchalant, months and months after we had this record, and he was just like, ‘Oh yeah, I got the ‘Cudi Zone’ verse.’

I almost didn’t believe him. I was like, ‘Word?’ Not only did he come in forever after we did the first verse, but he did the second verse and it sounded like he did it the exact same day he did the first verse. The tone was cool, everything was cool about it. It was like, ‘Ok, shit. We’re done. Sweet.’

We did ‘Cudi Zone’ and ‘Solo Dolo’ back-to-back in like two days. It had to have been six months ."
