Biography

Klescht and Whieldon are a progressive fusion rock duo formed in Exeter, UK in 2008.
Iggy Klescht plays drums and percussion, and
Mick Whieldon is the author, bassist, guitarist, keyboard player and producer.
Raphael Ravenscroft plays the saxophone.
Klescht & Whieldon are serious about their art, having a particular synchronicity when it comes to playing improvised alternative progressive and ambient drums, bass and guitar. Kleschts' tightness on drums is locked in with Whieldons' heavy fingered bass and haunting guitar harmonics. Energetic alternative progressive rock - the foundation of which is tight drum/bass cohesive phrases married with inspired colouful guitar highlights in their first album, the instrumental HUNTERS OF THE MOMENT.
Early 2011 saw the release of new material from Klescht and Whieldon . . . and Ravenscroft. Two years in the making, Raphael Ravenscroft of Baker Street (Gerry Rafferty) fame, has injected his own charismatic saxophone sound, bringing an added dimension to the 11 track instrumental album NO CURE FOR TURBULENCE. The work also contains keyboards and is more elaborate, complex and finely produced than 'Hunters of the Moment'.
Raphael Ravenscroft has also worked with artists such as Pink Floyd, David Gilmour, Marvyn Gaye, Frank Zappa,Kim Carnes, America, Mike Oldfield, Abba,Robert Plant, Bonnie Tyler and recently Daft Punk, UB40 and Duffy.
Klescht & Whieldon produce music for television, film and advertising.
