Biography

Rei Furuba (born January 11, 1993), better known as Kobaryo, is a J-Core producer from Saitama, Japan.

He began producing speedcore music in 2010 but first gained fame in 2012 after establishing his own record label, HITNECK RECORDS. There, he released various kinds of obscure electronic music. Through his early compilation albums, he was scouted by DJ Myosuke and participated most frequently in his compilations for Psycho Filth Records. He also released two speedcore albums on it. However, he additionally made mainstream hardcore, gabber, and noise during this period. He subsequently got involved with HARDCORE TANO*C, eventually becoming a full member by 2015.

After he began focusing primarily on HARDCORE TANO*C, his music trended towards incorporating other genres of EDM. In 2016, he revived HITNECK RECORDS (previously abandoned in 2014) and rebranded it as HITNEX TRAX. Instead of releasing music with other artists as he did in the past, he decided to create seven new aliases, functioning as fictional characters who produced various styles of EDM.

This trend towards becoming a multi-genre artist culminated in the release of his third album, MIXPEED ACTION, in 2018. At this point, he had solidified his unique style of “chaotic speedcore” that went on to dominate his music. His main style was speedcore, but he’d constantly switch genres throughout a single song, even going so far as to implement non-electronic elements such as metal guitars and pianos.

Since 2020, he has released two new chaotic speedcore albums on HITNEX TRAX and has continued contributing to HARDCORE TANO*C.
