Biography

Kozii became interested in music after his first party he attended at the legendary Wagon club in Wrocław, which unfortunately is closed now. Soon after he had a chance to find out how decks work, and immediately after this experienced he was dying to get his own setup. He bought his first decks and vinyl records (including Hydraulix releases) in 2008.
The Techno scene artists that inspire him the most are Dave the Drummer, Chis Liberator, Ant, Mobile Dogwash, DDR, David Moleon, and Raul Mezoclanza. His favourite styles are UK Techno, Acid Techno and Funky-Tribal Techno, however from time to time he chooses to play some classics from the hard and dark side of the game. His heart beats to a 4x4 rhythm, and he says it will stay that way forever. He also likes the Chemical Brothers, Vader, Slayer, instrumental Hip-Hop and vegetarian progressive grindcore.
He finds it hard to tell which party was his DJing debut, but the first gig he truly remembers was the Sin City 3 (21.05.2010) party at the Wagon club. He got invited to play by his friend Przester, and he recalls that the crowd had a blast. Since then, he has performed in the prime time at multiple parties in Wrocław, but also in other cities, like Bielsko-Biała, where the Tornado Crew invited him. He shared the stage with legends such as James Kinetec, 3phazegenerator, Jamie Taylor, Maxx, Silvano Scarpetta, Marcello Perri, Jeff 23 and James Pumping.
He says that his greatest achievement so far has been establishing the Pounding Tekkno collective together with Kurad, on the night of 28.11.2012. The group is still active and evolving, and from the very beginning its members have been organizing parties in Wrocław. The first party – Royal Pounding – with James Kinetec, took place in 2013. Soon after that night, other parties and initiatives kicked off, such as the Pound it! Show internet broadcast, or a series of podcasts titled Pounding Tekkno Podcast and Acid Tales.
Kozii is at the stage where he finds more and more pleasure in creating his own material. He published his first piece in April 2017 with the Filth Infatuated Digital label. His dream is to launch a record label with the Pounding Tekkno crew.
Kozii is full of admiration for the present Techno scene, and is eager to see what is coming. He recalls the “transformation” of Hardtechno that took place in 2010, unsure of what will it look like in the end. He thinks that Techno took on an interesting form, but again we are coming closer to the point of saturation. He thinks that the next transformation will be as interesting, hoping that the harder forms of Techno will remain on the surface.
There are also some things that frustrate Kozii about the Techno scene nowadays: stigmatizing some concepts and ignorance coming from that approach. The times are changing, therefore he believes we should make the most of the available technology instead of fighting against it. Please do not start an argument about vinyl vs mp3 vs live act around Kozii, it ruins his day.
Recently he started working for Allen & Heath, and he will do his best to make the next generation of mixers as great as possible. This may actually become reality, knowing his stubborn personality, his technical talent and fatherly love towards projects he is responsible for.
