Everyone in here shitting on the new stuff, meanwhile "A Cloak Woven of Stars" keeps repeating on my stereo

"How to Shroud Yourself with Night" could not be their best album, but man that dual combo ("To Disappear in You" & "An Invisible Beginning") are probably two of their best songs on their long discography!!!

"How To Shroud Yourself With Night" is probably the worst Lacrimas' record to date. It's a compilation of songs that seem like it doesn't fit anywhere, besides the awful singles. There's only two songs i found decent but the rest is just boring and generic, totally different from what the idea the band itself tried to sell us, they have probably a different record hidden somewhere. Really frustrating for me as a long time fan. Ps: Julian showed us he's just so full of himself. A real arrogant and talks to much.

Finally was able to give the album a listen to. I think Julian was doing too much with the vocals. Bleeding the Stars had beautiful doomy melodies and vocals. I don't hate the screams and I'm all for bands experimenting and not doing the same things all the time, but only a couple songs gave Lacrimas vibes. I love the instrumentation on a lot of the openings though.

People talking for everyone as if were facts... I think it's a great record, surely not their best but man... 'Unseen', ' The Vastness of Infinity', 'Nebula', 'An Invisible Beginning'... What's wrong with it? I think their worst might still be Hope Is Here.

I never said that i was speaking for everyone so i don't know why you are assuming this. I just posted my own opinion about the album that i find it to be an absolutely piece of trash. Now if you like it, that's fine. I'm not a huge fan of Hope Is Here either.

Judging by the songs they released so far, especially The Curtains of White Silence, this new album will be absolutely trash. I'm skipping it for sure

The new singer is also on YouTube comments gloating about how original and groundbreaking their new songs are lol

He's a cool guy indeed. I'm just not a fan of 'The Curtains of White Silence'.

I personally despised his attitude toward people criticizing this song. Most Lacrimas fans are still from the time when Chris was the singer, and they are entitled to not like this generic core song. I was really disappointed with his arrogant attitude

Дума ни в каком виде у них нет с "Меморандума", не понимаю, почему тут пишут о последующих после него альбомах, даже в контексте одной-двух песен. Дэт-дум на "Burning: A Wish" - это пять.

"Memorandum" is their last truly Doom Metal album, albeit you can find notable doom metal traces in "Burning: A Wish" and, to a lesser extent, in "Fall, I Wil Follow". If you don't like their most "rockish" style, you should end here. Nevertheless, I also recommend you listening to their last two albums ("Hope Is Here" and "Bleeding the Stars") as I find them the most "metallish" since "Fall, I will follow", so you might like them.

I know tastes differ, but I don't get it. Filthy Notes seems to be the overall favorite album by most fans, but Songs for the Last View and The Grandiose Nowhere are pretty much Filthy Notes version 2 and 3, even the vocals sound just like the same throughout 80% of the albums. In my opinion, from 2004 to 2013 only Ave End and Antidore were albums not relying in the exactly formula.

I'd love to know why you feel like they somehow returned to their Fall, I Follow and Burning: A Wish era! To me, despite some even more dropped down guitars tunes (compared to the previous ones since Ave end) and growls, it sounds like Filthy Notes-Songs For The Last View

When you put it that way, I understand the connection. And I'm glad to tell you this album is not that all different from Filthy Notes, Songs, Grandiose and Antiadore. Some songs on Antiadore also have growls! Personally, I can't hear any resemblance with Burning or Fall, but music is mostly a perception, and those albums are way down on my list of favs lol

Bleeding The Starts is definitely different and much better than Hope Is Here. Wasn't expecting this doomy feel at all, there's not a lot of gothic rock bands bordering on atmospheric doom without going full metal. I still prefer when they go full goth rock like on Celestine Woman, The Reaper and After All Those Infinities (instant classics), and A Sleeping Through is like Katatonia covering Lacrimas, totally unexpected and wonderful. And I'm amazed by how Lacrimas can find vocalists who sound exactly like each other - this is important because the vocals have been and always be the highlight of the band.

Agree. Though I think I prefer the other side of them, as my favourites are 1, 3, 5, 6,10. The album is pretty varied, new vocalist is really good and changing things up.

Apart from the casual growling, I don't see any difference. I still prefer Rob because he'd reach different notes, but himself, Julien and Christopher have exactly the same baritone voice. If you don't know the band and listen to songs like An Irresistible Fault, A Pearl and Celestite Woman you'd think the vocalist is the same

Увы. Вокалист звучат так же (ну, может менее театрально), иногда гроулит, но толку никакого, очередной проходняк, в духе предыдущего, когда они попытались вернуть серьёзные щи, но растеряли всю хитовость.

Hope Is Here, their weakest and worst album EVER just showed us how bad the band was going, so Rob just left, that album have no soul, nothing... and that's why the band decided to make a new-old Line-Up. In my opinnion something necessary because Rob is doing better at his own with a more pshycodelic-experimental Rock kind of music (The Alligator Wine).

Hope Is Here was good, in my opinion. Rob was also my favorite singer for Lacrimas, but I don't like his new project

So Rob just left the band a few days ago. The new singer was already announced and his name is Julian Larre. Another change on vocals, hope it doesn't affect the band.

"Hope is Here" sounds like they found b-sides of Burning: A Wish. Not so good as they did in 2001, but it's ok for them now.
