Karmacode is the fourth studio album by Italian gothic metal band Lacuna Coil, released on March 31, 2006 in several countries in Europe, April 3rd in the UK and other European countries, April 4th in North America, and April 5th in several other European countries.

In an interview in Rock Sound Magazine issue #82 entitled "Lacuna Coil – Breaking the Code", vocalist Cristina Scabbia confirmed that the song "Without Fear" is an Italian song, and that "Enjoy the Silence" is a cover version of the song by Depeche Mode. She also gave a small breakdown of each song.

496,650 copies of "Karmacode" have officially been sold worldwide. In Italy the album sold over 33,500 copies, earning the album a Silver record.

The album spawned Our Truth, the Depeche Mode cover of Enjoy the Silence, Closer, and Within Me as its first four singles. Videos for all four songs have been released. All videos have had rotation on MTV2's Headbanger's Ball. In September Lacuna Coil and digitalmusician.net have launched an exclusive To the Edge remix competition with the possibility of a release.

The album differs in style from Lacuna Coil's previous works. Reducing their "gothic" sound, Karmacode combines nu metal-esque riffs with hard rock and female vocals, although keep the melody they are known for. Many of the songs have a pseudo Middle-Eastern element to them. According to co-vocalist Andrea Ferro, this album is the band's attempt at becoming "heavier", influenced by their admiration of bands such as Korn and Meshuggah.

Two songs from the album have been featured in music video games: "Closer" in Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock and as downloadable content in Rock Band, and "Our Truth" in Rock Band 2 and Guitar Hero World Tour.
