Schifrin was one of three composers to enter 'jazz-elements' into television, and movie tracks. The others being Henry Mancini, and Nelson Riddle. My all-time favorite from Lalo is "Scorpio's Theme" from 'Dirty Harry'. One of his little known gems is the theme for the mid-sixties television-series: T. H. E. Cat; starring Robert Loggia. Sadly, the only known cover is by Al Hirt, on the album: The Horn Meets The Hornet. Two thumbs, way-up!!

The Argentinian-Jew incorporates rhythmic beats of jazz, bossa-nova, lounge music, and funky smooth-toned vibes to create a drug-enhanced feeling. This man is a genius.

His score to Enter The Dragon is brilliant. The way he incorporates Chinese instruments and techniques into his signature sound is perfect for the film.

Simply one of the greatest composers of the 20th Century. I've been listening to his stuff for more than 40 years. His "The Dissection and Reconstruction of Music From the Past" is one of the greatest Jazz albums of all time. Wish I could find a copy.
