"Million Dollar Man" is a story about a protagonist being drawn in to the romantic appeal of someone despite knowing they are foolish and broken. The narrator is deeply bewitched by this other person, and despite the person's flaws, she is still blindly devoted. The chorus speaks to this idea of being in love with someone despite knowing it is not the healthiest thing to do: "One for the money, two for the show, I love you honey, I'm ready, I'm ready to go/How did you get that way? I don't know/You're screwed up and brilliant, look like a million dollar man/So why is my heart broke?". The narrator is wondering what makes this person so captivating to her, even though she is aware of the risk of her heart being broken. Ultimately, the song paints a portrait of a relationship dynamic of love and danger and the struggle of being devoted to someone, regardless of the cost.
It is the tenth track from Lana Del Rey's second studio album and major-label debut, Born to Die.
