Lactophilia was recorded live in the studio on May 31, 2010 by Leche De Tigre’s eight members. There are 12 tracks on the album, showcasing the band’s flair for danceable acoustic guitar and percussion-driven music with original compositions as well as one rendition of a traditional jazz tune. Styles blend in a wide range of gypsy, afro-latin rhythms, tango, rock/funk, arabesque, Brazilian bossa nova, polka, and more.
Most of the tracks are instrumental. "Bala De Plata" and "Ojos Verdes" are written in Spanish, "Limonade" is in French, and "Dark Eyes" in French and English, adapted from the original Eastern European poem. Western Curry contains vocals, but no lyrics.
"Desconocido" was released for the Rock Band video game thru the Rock Band Network in February, 2012.
