Biography

  • Founded In

Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, California, United States

There are at least two bands that have gone by this name:

1) The Baltimore quartet, Love Life, featured ex-members of Jaks, Universal Order Of Armageddon and The Great Unraveling. Their uniquely raw, infused often utilized odd time signatures, driving bass, multi-layered arrangements featuring organs, horns, and strings, and most notably Katrina Ford's sinister, guttural voice and lyrics. Their sound earned them frequent comparisons to artists like The Birthday Party, Diamanda Galas, The Jesus Lizard, Swans, and early Pere Ubu. In 2004, Love Life broke up, with Katrina Ford, Sean Antanaitis, and drummer David Bergander forming the post-punk cabaret trio, Celebration, and bassist Anthony Malat going on to form Bellmer Dolls.

2) Love Life was also the name of a early '90s pop-metal band along the lines of Bon Jovi, with a slightly more blues-influenced sound. This Love Life consisted of Larry Worley on vocals/guitar, Darin Eby on guitar, Rod Romero on bass/vocals, and Garry Hanson on drums/vocals. They released only one album, 1991's "Goodbye Lady Jane" on Blonde Vinyl before hiring a different guitarist, changing their name to Fear Not, and signing to the Christian label Pakaderm.
