Vocalcity is a favourite of mine; I love some of his stuff as Uusitalo and Vladislav Delay; but are the other Luomo albums worth checking?

“The Present Lover” - the follow up to Vocal City - is pretty good, but much more bouncy and less dubby. I think it’s enjoyable and an interesting contrast. I didn’t much get into any Luomo after that

I had similar concerns, however luckily I was wrong: his other albums are great too. They are worth your time. Don't hesitate to give them thorough listens. They are not Vocalcity, there is more traditional song structure, less repetitivness (except The Present Lover). Check my account to see which pieces I love the most.

I recall a interview where Ripatti said that he does not want to make any more Luomo albums. Is this true? I can't seem to locate that interview anymore...

Yep, that was an interview for b-pitch or something like that. He also said Luomo was just a short project in which he wanted to explore many different ways to make pop music. He also said he listens to a lot of death & black metal... much more than he actually listens to electronic music.

Let's not hate on Peasounay, at least he likes it! When I first listened to Luomo I thought the same thing, although now if I had to listen to just one album for the rest of my life it would easily be The Present Lover.

If the tracks are too long go listen to the Chemical Brothers. The tracks are perfect, and I'm not surprised a buffoon like you can't see that.

My theory: Sasu Ripatti IS the Chicago Boys. I think he has been adding his own vocals to his albums since Vocalcity. He just wants to remain anonymous about it. Hence, the pseudonym "Chubbs" as the anonymous vocalist on the song "Gets Along Fine". Can anyone confirm this?

Damn, how did I overlook this? Amazing. Volacity is smooth and consistent. Not a bad track the entire way through.

Glad I gave Vocalcity a chance. When I previewed it, it seemed kind of meh and uninteresting. However, I should have known better. This is the kind of music that relies on subtle progression. You can't judge it too quickly.
