K.I.D.S. is the fourth mixtape by Pittsburgh rapper Mac Miller. It is his “breakout” project, as he met international recognition shortly after the mixtape’s release. As the title hints, the theme of the mixtape is based on the movie Kids, by Larry Clarke. To this day, the mixtape has been downloaded over 1,000,000 times and has received almost 3,000,000 views.
It features rapper and Taylor Gang affiliate Chevy Woods. The production is handled by Pittsburgh-based team ID Labs, Black Diamond, DT Spacely, Wally West and others.
Furthermore, the track “Kool-Aid & Frozen Pizza” is featured on the project, which almost earned Mac a $10,000,000 lawsuit by Lord Finesse. The veteran attacked Mac Miller because he sampled the beat “Hip 2 Da Game” without granting permission, which he himself has produced.
