Machine Gun Romantics were from Houston, TX and played Gulf Coast Powerviolence from 2002-2005. The original line up was: Alex on drums and back up vocals,Mikey on guitar and vocals, and Ryan on lead vocals. Later, they added Beau on bass. The band split up in 2005 because Ryan smoked weed. Mikey and Ryan went on to make 50-50, which Ryan later left. Ryan later formed Back Stabbath formed with some of the dudes from Trifle Tower, Man is Mostly Water, and the Wax Museums. Ryan then did vocals in Dark Forces, he's in Denton now doing vocals in Mean and Ugly with members of Stymie, Execution Tax, and Final Club. Beau went on to play guitar in Insect Warfare, but that band is dead now. He now plays guitar in No Talk, and has other projects including the Homopolice. . Alex now lives in Austin. Mikey is still in 50-50 and went on to play with Pretty Little Flower, but recently left. He is now in a new band called N.I.B.I.R.U., with members of Dissent, El Desmadre, PLF, and Insect Warfare. Alex is also in Hatred Surge, Iron Age, Mammoth Grinder and was in Sacred Shock until they broke up. The Knuckle Scraper 7" was supposed to be an MGR 7", but after Ryan was kicked out of the band, they replaced his lyrics with new ones.
