Album of 2023 for me. It took me 1 year to understand it's metaphorical conception. Oh, I'm addicted now...

Horrible autotuned/pitch-corrected vocals in a few tracks aside, a good album. First 3 tracks especially are great, Become the Firestorm I'd even call one of the bands' best.

Are people really this blinded after Catharsis?! This sounds like the same kind of generic shit they've been making for a while now, it has its moments, sure, some cool parts/songs here and there, and the first 3 tracks actually seemed promising, but all in all it's not that great. I can confirm i've pretty much given up on them now, i wanted to give this one a go because people were saying it's their best since The Blackening (lol, their best one was right after that, and this is nowhere near the quality of those albums). Didn't go with high expectations and that's good, because this is just as bland as i was expecting, they lost it after Locust, they have moments here and there after that too, but not good albums. This one has a promising start, VERY bland middle, and then gets better towards the end again. Can't see myself coming back to this one too often either, if ever.

Strong return for Machine Head. Some of my favorite elements of The Blackening and Unto the Locust are present here.

To me this is kinda insipid. The best cuts were Slaughter and Arrows. Everything in between more or less went in one ear and out the other. Marginally better than Catharsis but still a far cry from the old MH. Sounds like Robb has listened to a lot of Killswitch Engage and modern Trivium. Even heard a hint of Amon Amarth in one track.

This band is such low-hanging fruit to meme for all the obvious reasons, but I can't deny this album is actually pretty solid. Genuinely catchy with killer riffs and effective choruses. A little overlong and grandiose with occasional moments of cringe, but that's Machine Head for you.
