Are you trolling? You've scrobbled him 400+ times.. and have replied on this page several times the past 4 years. Or do you just hate yourself? If you;'re trying to say his newer releases suck then you haven't listened to them all. They are very close to his older stuff. A couple have vocals, thats about it. Its still all the same machinedrum sounds. Machinedrum has also always worked with vocalists/rappers. So its not a new thing. They are not my favorite tracks of his but they are still good.

how the hell did this guy and Tosin Abasi end up even interacting with eachother in the first place, let alone collaborating on eachother's albums? (Tosin was featured on White Crown, while Travis did percussion for the Animals as Leaders song 'Inner Assassins'.) i'm a big fan of both Machinedrum & Animals as Leaders, so it completely stumps me how people across such different musical spectrums (atmospheric future garage vs instrumental math metal) would have had remotely anything to do with eachother. i haven't yet found any interviews mentioning any reasons why such a bizarre pair up would have come into existence, but i'm totally on board for any future content they come out with. man, talk about a crack pairing!

did you ever hear Kelela - Cut 4 Me? I hear a majority of the songs were written about their relationship, and he even collaborated on a beautiful acoustic cover of one of the songs with her... but the cover seems to have fallen off the face of the internet unfortunately https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79KDzkQoe4Y (song which was covered)

Not a big fan oh Human Energy but he said he wanted to try something different and that's fine. Maybe he needs to drop more albums like this to return to his sound again. He's just having fun and that's cool

A couple more anthems like Morphogene and Do It 4 U and a couple less interlude/experiment tracks like Etheric Body Temple and Spectrum Sequence and this would've been one of my top albums from this year.

It's maybe a little inconsistent but stylistically I love it. very futuristic, clean and precise-sounding with some beautiful atmospheres and some really amazing standout tracks. Bit heavy on the piercing treble at times though...

I thought so too. The difference is - that sound was fire back in 2010-2011 when Rustie pioneered it. Now? ..not so much

Yeh Rustie certainly hasn't aged well. Played it for a friend recently and all he could say was "too many laser noises".

if anyone's looking for more of this guy's 2010+ stuff, there's a bunch of non-album tracks, remixes, & b-sides in the Vapor City Citizenship Programme that were given out for free from late 2013 to early 2014. they're all blocked from uploading on youtube for some reason, so finding DLs of it on something like Soulseek would be your best bet. there's absolutely brilliant tracks on there, it sucks that they're so obscure & won't likely ever get released on later albums/EPs

Confused as to why he doesn't receive Burial-esque critical praise/ recognition. Rooms and Vapor City contain tracks that are on par with Bevan's best (both already being strong records on their own terms). Also gonna go out on a limb and say Travis is a bit of a Prince fan. [2]

Even though it's not a true album, Archives landed on my Best of 2014 list, at least with the "honorable mention" pack https://optimisticunderground.wordpress.com/2015/02/07/best-music-of-2014-honorable-mention/ Check it for some great music you probably missed
