The Magnets - British Vocal Group

American Magnets : Hailing from Denton, Texas, Magnets meld traditional rock elements with more unorthodox compositional ideas. They released their first eponymous EP, in November 2008

British The Magnets : The Magnets are a 6 piece British a cappella group. Formed of Nicolaas Doodson, Michael Welton, James Fortune, Andrew Frost, Stephen Trowell and Derek Elroy.

The group formed whilst at university together in a production of Guys and Dolls.

They were immediately signed up to EMI and released their debut album, Giving It All That, in 2001. The following few years saw them tour with the likes of Lisa Stansfield, Michael Ball, Tom Jones and Geri Halliwell, with appearances on the Michael Parkinson Show, Blue Peter and GMTV. In 2004 the group released Another Place, which featured nine original songs and two covers, including a rendition of Stephen Stills' "For What It's Worth".

The last two years have seen them perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and currently they are on a European tour showcasing a talent for more theatre-based productions in the show Vox Pop.
