Biography

Two producer/musicians from Adelaide create the Garage-Electro-Rock sounds of Mammoth Logic.

Unearthed by triple J radio (Australia), Mammoth Logic grabbed national airplay with the ‘Met on Mars’ single (run on triple J and Nova fm). They played the Adelaide Parklife festival in Oct 2010- opening the main stage for Cut Copy, Darwin Deez, The Wombats, Kele and the Dandy Warhols. ML also just supported Gypsy and the Cat on their recent tour show in Adelaide.

ML blend live sounds - drums, bass, percussion, sax with heavy analogue synths in a way that seems to be both in-your-face and uplifting.
Dave Crowe’s vocals are a meld of Morrissey of The Smiths, Isaac Brock (Modest Mouse) and a touch of Bowie - if that is a conceivable entity. Meanwhile Reid Jones (guitars, vocoder, sax, drums) adds the organic touch to the sound.

The group are working on an album which, building on the success of singles ‘Met on Mars’ and ‘In the Fire’, will be well worth waiting for.

Here’s what people are saying about Mammoth Logic:

“This track is pure awesome!… Multi instrumentalists Dave Crowe and Reid Jones make something that could be described as Garage Disco-Pop, the music has a distinctly live feel to it, like it’s being played rather than programmed, and the combination of analog synths, impressive vocals, a touch of vocoding and some infectious 80’s sounding chords is hard to beat.”
Electronic Rumours (UK) on ‘Met on Mars’

“They’re getting some great sounds out of their synths…this is a really strong track”
Dom Alesio , triple j on ‘Met on Mars’

“We’re loving this track”
Nova fm on ‘Met on Mars’

“Some sweet synth pop from this Adelaide duo that were recently a featured artist on Triple J’s Unearthed. In The Fire takes you back to the ‘80s with its Depeche Mode and New Order electronic pop sensibilities. A band to keep your eye on.”
Onion.com.au

“Nice blend of old school and new school sounds. And a vocoder breakdown! Gotta love that.”
Richard Kingsmill, triple j on ‘Met on Mars’
