Biography

Mane de la Parra, also known as Mane, (born on 23 December 1982) is a Mexican producer, songwriter, singer and actor.

At the age of 15, Mane began to take guitar and singing lessons, and then chose to pursue his career in music, commencing studies at Berklee College of Music in Boston in 2001, and graduating in 2005. To specialize his studies, he took classes in flamenco guitar in Barcelona with Manuel Granados. During this time, Mane wrote songs for the band Insignia, Persecuted and Liberation. The song "Si te piden tiempo", originally sung by Yahir, was co-written by Mane and Miguel Luna. He also collaborated with Miguel Luna, Ernesto Cortazar, Jose Portilla, Marco Godoy, Daniel Dayz and Facundo Monty. Very soon, Manelick won a BMI Peermusic Latin Scholarship Award in 2005 for his song "Me Toco Amarte", an award that was presented at the BMI Latin Awards in Las Vegas by Carlos Santana. In 2006, he won a SCLAM award, the first Latin American song writing competition provided by the Latin American Music & Business Association of Berklee College of Music.

Thanks to experience he has gained, Mane is now collaborating with a number of people who are now supporting what will be his first solo album. With Latin pop vibes, he began recording his first album. Part of the recording was made in Buenos Aires, at "El Pie" studio which is owned by Alejandro Lerner. Others involved in this album were : Zurdo Alegibe, the drummer, who previously collaborated on Diego Torres' albums, and Freddy Valeriani, the bass player.

The other part of album was recorded in Los Angeles, where Mane collaborated with Oskar Cartay, J.Lo & Marc Anthony's bass player and Fausto Garcia, percussionist for Stevie Wonder. The album was mixed in Los Angeles by Thom Russo, a producer who has won 14 Grammy awards, and mastered by Eddy Schreyer.
