Maria Due’s breakout album, "Kissing in Public" (2009), is a stunning collection of love songs, dance tunes, and lullabies. On the forefront of Norway’s pop scene, her music combines energetic grooves with visions of love and longing, humor and desire. For every upbeat arrangement and soaring melody, these songs also offer an opposite: The desire to be more than you are, to love in the face of loss, to call out for a lover who is no longer present. Maria Due’s music goes way beyond pop, with influences ranging from Joni Mitchell and Francoise Hardy to Bjork and Feist.
