"How to Be a Heartbreaker" is a song by Welsh recording artist Marina (formerly 'Marina and the Diamonds') from her second studio album, Electra Heart. The song was written after the original version of Electra Heart was finished, and therefore appears only on the US edition of the album. It was released as the album's third UK single and second US one. The song was covered by Dean Geyer and Lea Michele on the Glee episode "Feud".

The song was written by Marina, Ammar Malik, Daniel Omelio, Benny Blanco, Cirkut, and Dr. Luke, and produced by the latter three. How to Be a Heartbreaker was Part 7 of 'The Archetypes', and is a 'Homewrecker' song, along with Power & Control, E.V.O.L and Homewrecker.

Marina said that How to Be a Heartbreaker was the only new track on the US edition of her album Electra Heart, and she wrote it "as the UK album was being printed." Lyrically, she stated the song "basically involves four rules on how to be a heartbreaker. It's a guide for everyone!"

The album was mixed in early January 2012, therefore, as the song was written "about a week" after the physical copies of the UK album were done, the song was likely made in the spring of 2012.
