"Pandora's Box" is about a relationship that is doomed from the start. The narrator recounts the pain and suffering she endured, as the other person was "someone so unkind", and that all the red flags were there from the beginning. In opening the box of pain and hurt, the narrator had lost all control and all hope. She reflects on how, even if she had tried to escape the pain, she could not outrun the war inside her skull. In the end, she prays that hope is not lost and that she can survive. This song is an emotional and powerful reminder to not let yourself be pulled into a toxic and destructive relationship.
