Savages is a song by Welsh singer Marina, at the time known professionally as Marina and the Diamonds. The song was written by Marina herself, and produced by David Kosten. Appearing on her third studio album FROOT, it is the 11th track on the album. Savages was represented by an orange alongside Gold on Marina's website during the era.
While Savages was originally written in disgust after reading about the Boston Bombings in a newspaper, as Marina heard multiple news stories about rape, the song evolved into a discussion about whether these crimes are inherently human instead of just condemnation of them.
