Biography

Martin Baltser is an electro-folk artist and producer based in Aarhus, Denmark.
The music is somewhat similar by artists such as Bon Iver, Sigur Rós, Ben Howard, and Damien Rice. Martin Baltser's trademark is his high silky falsetto voice on top of, at times, huge indie soundscapes and music sceneries. The alternative, dreamy, and almost fantasy-like soundscapes often found on the tracks are usually made from landscape ambience, low-fi sounding instruments and funny things found in a drawer.

Martin's first album ’The Wasteland Incident’ was released in september 2018 on Umami Records (Singapore) and Backseat (Hamburg). The first album was a huge step and a great start for the songwriter. The music was picked by MTV Asia, German radio NDR2, big international playlists, and German magazines Akustik Gitarre and Tonspion for being incredibly honest and open about gender roles, sexuality, and masculinity. Martin Baltser is an openly gay songwriter and LGBT musician and often writes songs circling around the theme.
With his latest single and music video 'Back Off You' February 2020, Martin took the music in a more alternative direction by fusing and mixing electronic beats and synths with the danish string ensemble Who Killed Bambi sort of like the music of Woodkid. The music video won 2 prices (Berlin & Florida) and was nominated in 11 film festivals for bringing up the 'taboo' feeling of anger as a kid.

Baltser played his first headliner tour in Germany in 2019 and have played at Trans Musicales de Rennes (France), SPOT Festival (DK), Norden Festival (DE) as well as supported Luke Sital-Singh, The Bland. Martin was chosen as one of the five artists across 26 countries to be part of the European Incubator program SLASH/2020.
