Masijay (born March 8, 1986) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer. His new mixtape is set to be released summer of 2010. Masi was born in Detroit, Michigan, the youngest of three. He attended Henry Ford High School and multiple Colleges afterwards.
In 2008 Masijay suffered multiple deadly gunshot wounds to the chest, upper back, and hand after an attempted car-jacking. About a month later he relocated to Hollywood, California to pursue his entertainment career.
In 2009 he released his first solo mixtape “Who is Masijay” . The mixtape was hosted by Mr. Ceo (1080G Records), and features the likes of Yung Good, and Lynk Sheez. It was originally released as a self made download link (www.tinyurl.com/masi2009 ) and three months later pushed to iTunes after reaching over 300,000 downloads. Soon after Napster, Amazon, and Rhapsody had “ Who is Masijay” on their list. Up until recently the Mixtape was pulled from distributers due to legal circumstances.
