Biography

Mathias Isassi is an aspiring singer/songwriter from a south Texas town called Kingsville. Being only 24 years old and totally independent he is a great up and coming talent who knows what he wants, knows what the people want and knows how to reach both those goals. His voice is loud with passion and even when soft and gentle rings as if he was shouting atop a mountain. His inspiring words of wisdom, pain, question, joy and love flow through angelic notes and chords – creating beautiful long-lasting melodies. He is like the song bird you hear on a Sunday afternoon walk, whose tune you just hold on to and couldn’t shake loose if you tried. Mathias Isassi is a self-taught solo artist who, over the past five years of playing and writing, has explored the style of blues, soul, rock and folk. In those years he has written well over five albums worth of music and recorded/produced a full-length album ‘last chance’ which was released online in September of 2007. Finding most his inspiration through people, change, nature, love and conflict his style ranges across the board of genres, but it would be justified to name it folk. Like other folk artists such as Don McLean, Cat Stevens and Arlo Guthrie, Mathias sings in a tone and form as if his soul is speaking directly to the soul of his audience. Other artists he is similar to are John Lennon, James Taylor, John Cougar Mellencamp, Simon & Garfunkel, Neil Young and new artists such as James Blunt and Joshua Radin just to name a few. Mathias just released his single 'How Lucky We Are' in December of 2008 and is currently working on recording for next album in Houston. He is currently under no type of label or contract for recording, producing or licensing – working totally independent with other indie artists, he likes to keep all options open.
