Biography

From full-time social worker to full-time musician, Matt Santry has made the unlikely transition from playing music for Autistic children to rocking audiences of loyal fans. Santry credits the years he spent working one-on-one with children with disabilities as a contributing factor to his ability to successfully create a connection with his current audiences.

After much anticipation, Santry released his sophomore record in August of 2010. Produced by Grammy winning songwriter, Scot Sax (Faith Hill, Tim McGraw), and mixed by Grammy winning mix engineer, Jeff Juliano (John Mayer), the new songs showcase Santry's maturing skills as a writer and performer. When asked about the recording experience with Scot Sax, Matt described "A raw, first-take style approach to production, where the song comes first.".

Santry’s new record, Tin Ace City, comes with a variety of textures demonstrated in songs like "I Just Blinked" showcasing the driving piano and handclaps call to hit the road, while counting the passing days, with an equally driving banjo arrangement. With traces of Little Feat grooves, songs like "Tell Me It’s Gonna Be Alright" gives his band a chance to stretch out, and on the other side, a beautiful string quartet highlights the cautionary call to "…..leave the past where it belongs….." on "The Heart of Starting New".

All of the new songs have been developed in clubs, campuses and coffee shops between New York and LA, with Matt playing over 500 shows since beginning his journey from social worker to performer.

Look for Matt's new record, Tin Ace City, digitally at iTunes, Amazon, eMusic and on CD at his upcoming tour dates.
