Despite knowing the journey and where it leads, I embrace it and welcome every moment.

I've been listening to this so many times, every year since its release (18 years!). It always get to me. Hearing this can be a small meditation; no matter where I am, it makes me pause, apprehend and appreciate what is (and isn't) around me. The older I get, the better it becomes (or is it me who becomes better, through every listen?).

Shouldnt have been the first track in Arrival if you ask me. The movie, at this point, didnt deserve this deeply emotional work to support before we even knew the slightest bit of any (maybe) emotional moving situation going on. Its a great song, dont get me wrong, but at this point in the movie it was an utterly blatant exaggeration of emotional depth. I get it, I must be sad now. The movie demands it! nah...

I get your point, it did risk becoming too sentimental. However, the overall conclusion is optimistic in nature despite all that melancholy, so I thought it work well. It was a bold move that could have gone down the road you pointed out, but I don't agree with you that it did.

Oh my goodness this is at either end of the film Arrival. It should be on the OST for it as well. Such a beautiful piece of music
