1. With its first album – Telescope – MAZ got nominations at the 2012 Juno awards (instrumental album of the year), the 2011 Canadian Folk Music Awards (band of the year, instrumental album of the year and word album of the year) and a “best instrumental album of the year” mention at the 2011 Indie Acoustic Project music awards. MAZ is now taking off to scale new horizons with their second album Chasse-Galerie!
Conserving MAZ’s roots in the trad-modern union, Marc Maziade (electric guitar, banjo, feet percussion and programming), Pierre-Olivier Dufresne (violin, mandolin and feet), Gabriel Godbout-Castonguay (keys) and Benoit Coulombe (bass) invite you on a journey that will take you from traditional French-Canadian music down to the depths of modal jazz and into trance-inducing modern melodies.
2.Maz (Mike Maher) is a singer/songwriter living in Brooklyn, NY. He has toured the world with several groups including the award winning, genre bending Snarky Puppy. He formed a group in 2009 to showcase his original compositions.
