I don't know why I wrote this off after the first time I listened to it, this is some of their best work (but STTIMS is still their masterpiece)

This was never the Mazzy Star album I knew best, but it'll now forever be associated with sitting by myself in an armchair in an empty bar in Madrid at 1am while the whole record was playing in the background, and it felt beautiful.

I discovered this album at the library in 1991, didn't know who they were but the album cover drew me in. When I got home and put them on I was transplanted to another plane of existance. Mazzy Star opened doors to new and exciting music for me.

not possible to have a more perfect album/debut. a lot of first albums are monumental, but i mean,.......c'mon!!!!!!! i sense a deal with the devil might have been made. subsequently, every album thereafter as well. yeah, i'm a fan.

Has anyone seen Love and a 45? It's how I found out about this incredible album, they used two of the tracks, Ghost Highway and Give You My Lovin. When I heard Give You My Lovin it was love at first listen, that song still makes me cry... And some people don't get it (!)
