Melotron is a / band from Germany. The founding members are Andy Krüger (vocals/composition), Edgar Slatnow (synthesizer/lyrics), and Kay Hildebrandt (synthesizer/production). The band initially called themselves The Vermin, however, as their lyrics were exclusively in German, they decided to change their name to Melotron for their debut album.

In terms of production, Melotron focuses on longevity. Since their debut album Mörderwerk, they have worked with successful indie and techno producer Olaf Wollschläger at the Weltherren-Studios/Buir (Kerpen). In 2006, the band decided to explore new avenues in this area and also worked with successful alternative producer Dirk Riegner.

On February 9th, 2007, Melotron competed in the Bundesvision Song Contest for their state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern with their song "Das Herz."

Melotron has taken part in various significant electronic and industrial festivals, including the Wave Gotik Treffen festival in 1999, 2003, 2004, 2005, and 2012, as well as the M'era Luna Festival in 2001, 2003, and 2005.

The band has released several albums over the years, starting with "Mörderwerk" in 1999 followed by "Fortschritt" in 2000. Two years later, they released "Weltfrieden" in 2002, followed by "Sternenstaub" in 2003. "Cliché" was released in 2005, and "Propaganda" came out two years later in 2007. In 2014, the band released "Werkschau," and their most recent album to date is "Für Alle" which was released in 2018.
